Skills PEI have a numbers of programs of use to those wanting to enter the construction trades. These programs outlined below.
If you have been out of high school for two years and are on Employment Insurance, you may be eligible to receive assistance to cover a portion of course and living costs. For more information on this program, please click here.
Training PEI – Career Connect program
If you are eligible to receive Employment Insurance benefits, have been out of school for one year and plan to attend post-secondary studies, you may be eligible to draw Employment Insurance. For more information on this program, please click here.
If you are working towards professional certification in a designated construction trade, you should consider registering in the Apprenticeship Program.
The program combines on-the-job training with a qualified tradesperson and classroom training at a training establishment. You may also be eligible for Apprenticeship grants and loans, please click here.

The Graduate Mentorship Program is an employment program to help unemployed recent post-secondary graduates develop new skills and gain work experience in their field of study through on the job training. For more information on this program, please click here.
